Patchwork for Beginners at Wellington Sewing Services

Over the last couple of weeks a group of  new quilters went through the process of creating their first quilts.  They are all different both in design, size and fabric content.  I don't have pictures of all the completed items yet but will post them when I get an opportunity to photograph them.  We (the staff at Wellington Sewing Services) get excited at seeing these quilts coming together especially after helping with the selection of fabrics

The initial layout of a quilt which is now being machine quilted.  This new quilter arrived
to class yesterday with a second baby quilt top nearly completed.



Im looking forward to seeing this quilt finished.  Bright fresh fabrics.



Beautiful Wool fabric (my photo doesn't do it justice).  Should be handled carefully. 
Seams larger than 1/4" and ironed open.

Kiwiana quilt.  Laid out ready for basting. Vibrant and earthy at the same time.

Japanese blossom fabric.  Photographed under our tree which is just
starting to blossom.  Great mixture of soft colours.

Welcome to a new addiction.  A happy quilter makes a happy wife which makes a happy husband / partner - that's what I tell their husbands :)

Tip of the week - photograph your sewing room for insurance purposes.  On the back of your photos write your machine serial numbers.
